What are Fancards ?
Genezys' philosophy is to create a new economy between clubs, athletes and their fans, with Fancards being at the heart of this economy. By buying, exchanging and reselling Fancards, you help finance your favorite athletes and clubs, who receive a significant share of the proceeds.
In return, they provide you with rewards and benefits unavailable anywhere else, such as signed jerseys, competition gear, match tickets, experiences and physical encounters with athletes or clubs, as well as exclusive content published on the Genezys platform. Thanks to these Fancards, you're no longer just a fan, but part of the team in their daily sporting lives.
Each season, athletes and clubs create a limited collection of Fancards available on the primary market. Each collection contains four card types: a "Limited" category and three rarer categories: "Rare", "Epic" and "Legendary".
- “Limited" cards account for 80% of all cards issued.
- “Rare" cards account for 13% of all cards issued.
- “Epic" cards are issued for 6% of all cards.
- “Legendary" cards are issued for 1% of all cards.
Each Fancard is a unique digital asset that guarantees authenticity and ownership.
Buying Fancards
You can purchase Fancards of your favorite club or athlete on the primary market. Purchases are only open during the season when the collection is open. When buying a Fancard, a random algorithm is used to pick the card that you will own.
Two purchase options are available:
- Purchase a single card: under this modality, the Fancard is allocated randomly among the various rarities at the end of a "mint" phase (creation and registration of the card in the blockchain and transfer to your wallet). There is a 20% chance that the card you will own is a rare card (Rare, Epic, Legendary).
- Purchase a pack called a "Booster" containing 4 to 6 cards. A booster increases the chances of obtaining rare cards (Rare, Epic, Legendary) by 50% compared to buying a single card.
You can also buy specific Fancards offered for sale by other users on the secondary marketplace.
Collecting Fancards
VIP access
The Fancard is like a pass, giving you VIP access to your favorite club or athlete. It unlocks the Fanzone on the platform, where you'll find all the exclusive content and challenges offered by the athlete. But that's not all, by owning any Fancard you will also have access to challenges created by Genezys.
Participating in Challenges
A challenge is created by an athlete, club or by Genezys. Here you can win unique prizes including personal items, tickets, signed souvenirs, unique experiences and much more.
To take part in a challenge, you need to meet the entry requirements. There are three possible types of conditions associated with a challenge. These are :
- Rarity: You must own a card from the collection whose rarity is indicated.
- Acquisition date: You must own the card(s) before, after or between the dates indicated.
- First-buyer conditions: You must be one of the first X owners of the collection to participate.
Challenges may have all or none of these conditions. The conditions can be found on the challenge page.
Please note that each challenge has an expiry date. You must therefore click on "Participate" before the end of the allotted time (indicated on the challenge card), otherwise you won't be able to participate and will have to wait for the next one.
Each Fancard entitles you to a number of tickets to be used in the challenge draw. The number of tickets allocated increases according to rarity:
- Limited: 3 tickets
- Rare: 9 tickets
- Epic: 20 tickets
- Legendary: 50 tickets
Therefore the more Fancards you hold, the rarer the card, the greater your chances of winning. Good luck!
Trade and Resell
As well as being a pass to the various Genezys services, the Fancards is a unique collector's item, which you can trade or resell on the secondary market.
Collecting Fancards is also, and above all, a question of interest and perspective. That's where your passion for sport comes into its own, as the Fancards offered by Genezys sportsmen and women are a gold mine for the scouting expert in you. Indeed, if you have the flair to pick up one or more of an emerging athlete's Fancards as soon as they release their first collection, the value of the Fancard may rise based on their performance in the months or years to come.
Once a collection is closed, you will no longer be able to buy the Fancard on the primary market. If the demand for the athlete is high, there is a chance that the value of the Fancard will increase. A very good reason to manage your collections inside your locker (“My Locker”), because it's bound to contain nuggets that will increase in value.
